With Antropoceno, Lua Viana aims to bring attention to the culture of her homeland and the ecological issues that have long plagued the Brazilian interior.

Advocating for change and action through music itself, her works distill conflicting senses of optimism and despair towards the destruction of the natural world. Terra do Fogo channels her aggression by mixing traditional Brazilian music with angular black metal -- resulting in an incendiary work of avant-garde samba that burns white-hot.

Sincretismo honors the creation of music across Brazilian history, reinterpreting standards of samba-canção in a contemporary context. Through a series of covers and reimaginings of the canon of MPB, Viana aims to highlight the enduring legacy of Brazilian art as a continuous and unique byproduct of syncretism.
